As the rangers are on their way back to Earth, Dark Spector begins a frantic attempt to stop them, sending waves and waves of his forces to stop their approach, though it doesn't work. As he calls a meeting of all the forces of Evil who have pledged their loyalty to him, he receives the solution to his problem from Lord Zedd: the most effective solution to combating Rangers are evil Rangers. So, using information Astronema recovered from the facility the Particle Accelerator Cannon was stored, Dark Spector created 5 morphers based off the Nanite Armor the Astro Rangers had. Though Dark Spector had morphers, there were no rangers to operate them. Once again Zedd stepped up to plate and suggested once again that who was more fitting to destroy the final remnants of Zordon's legacy that the ones who began it?

So, with that, the forces of Dark Spector abducted Zack Taylor from prison, Billy Cranston from Aquitar, Kimberly Hart from Paris, Jason Scott from his hospital room where he had remained comatose for the past 3 years, and dug up the grave of Trini Kwan and brought them all to Dark Spector, brainwashing Zack, Billy, and Kim, reanimating Trini, and implanting devices to control Jason's unconscious body. The five Psychos are then sent out with their mission: destroy the Astro Rangers and the Particle Accelerator Cannon. With superior speed, power, and weaponry, their work should be quick.
